Make-up exam for level 1C and upper levels is on 12th same time and classroom.

YCT Official Exam

Confucius Institute at USJ will host the first official Chinese language proficiency test - YCT (Youth Chinese Test) for school students in Lebanon on Nov 13th 2010.

We invite the students who has studied Chinese language, are currently in school, from 6 to 18 years old to participate in this official exam.

Chinese course for beginner

Chinese course in Beirut will start in the week of Sep. 27th. Courses in Tripoli, Saida and Zahle will start in the week of Sep. 20th.

Schedule for beginners

- Once per week Tue 15:00-16:30, 244USD / 20 hours
- Once per week Mon 15:00-18:15, 488USD / 40 hours
- Twice per week Mon & Wed 18:45-20:15, 488USD / 40 hours

Kids Chinese beginner (for kids 8-12 years old)
- Once per week Wed 17:00-18:30, 244USD/20 hours


Students from all of above groups should also attend the Oral Chinese course at the following schedule:
Tue 18:45-20:15 or Thu 15:00-16:30
Oral Chinese course is to emphasize the spoken Chinese language. It is totallt 20 hours course and will be for free for all CIUSJ students.

Chinese Corner - Time Changed

The Chinese corner launched in April 2010 will be restarted in Sep. But the timing is changed into:
Group 1A to 1D will be 15:00-16:30 every Thursday and 18:45-20:15 every Tuesday (two choice one).
Group 2A and up will be 18:45-20:15 every Tuesday.

There will be two to three instructors working seperately for different levels. Please check the classroom number in CIUSJ office before you go to the class.

New Launching of Saida Branch

Confucius Institute will open Chinese course in Saida. It will be on every Wed 15:00-18:15. Mr. Robert KONG will be the instructor.

A free demo course will be given by Mr. Kong on Sep 16th 15:00-16:30 in USJ Saida Center.

New Semester Starts

New Chinese courses for different levels in Confucius Institute at University Saint Joseph, Lebanon will start in the week of Sep. 20th. Ask for the new schedule by sending email to ci@usj.edu.lb.

Different with before, there are two sessions oral Chinese courses per week for each level. Students is obliged to enroll in any one of them. This is to emphasize on the spoken Chinese language, to encourage students speak Chinese.

For 0-beginners, there is Group 1 on Mon 15:00-18:15, and Group 2 on every Mon & Wed 18:45-20:15.
For kids 0-beginners, there is Group 1 on every Wed 17:00-18:30.

New opening in USJ educational center in Saida will be on Sep 22nd. Every Wed 15:00-18:15.

The Chinese final exam will be at Classroom 208 with schedule as below:

June 4th Fri 17:00-19:00
Exam for Level 1B and upper levels
Make up exam for level 1A2 and 1A4

June 5th Sat 15:00-17:00
Exam for Level 1A2 and 1A4
Make up exam for level 1B and upper levels

Explanation:
Make up exam means if the student is supposed to come the exam on 4th, but he/she can't. Then he/she may go to the other day 5th for the Make up exam, but he/she needs to send email to ci@usj.edu.lb or SMS to 03-998792 to let the Administrator know. Otherwise he/she won't have exam paper.

Chinese Corner - just there for you

Chinese Corner at 17:30-19:00 on every Friday is a new project launched by Confucius Institute of USJ aiming to create an environment where students can, by active involvement, improve their communicative skills in Chinese. So far, the Chinese corner has been successfully organized three times.

Anyone, who are or not studying Chinese in Confucius Institute, are well welcome to the Chinese Corner to practice their Chinese. Every time a Chinese Native Speaker, either the Vice-director Madam LIU Guiqiu or the other teachers who are teaching Chinese in Confucius Institute, will be present and ready to help and join in the casual and friendly Chinese talk, accompanied by the cookies, Chinese tea and coffee.

After the first three times of the Chinese Corner, those participants all sing high of the idea of creating an occasion where they could apply their Chinese, comprehensively, feasibly and creatively. “This is indeed very”, expressed the participants. Clearly, they all enjoy the Chinese Corner very much and are making progress in their Chinese proficiency.

The first Chinese Corner in CIUSJ was a nice gathering. 11 students participated. Mrs. LIU Guiqiu the Vice Director and three instructers Lily, Tangtang and Robert were speaking Chinese with students about "me and my family" and other topics. As what the students said: "hen3 you3 qu4!" (very interesting)

The topic for the coming Chinese Corner on Fri April 23rd 17:30-19:00 will be "time & activity". Welcome every Chinese language lover to participate!
